Studio on the Hill

Studio on the Hill is a pottery studio. Sister Helen Kluke, Ministry Director and Teacher, offers a wide range of people the chance to work with clay in a safe, non-stressful environment. All are welcome: men, women and children of all ages as well as people with disabilitites including those who are visually impaired.

Class Content

In the classes taught at Studio on the Hill, various hand-building techniques and decorative finishes are explored.  Individual interests are encouraged and welcomed. Wheel work is offered for adults and teens. “Pottery makes beautiful gifts and conversation pieces for your home,” says Sr. Helen.

Teaching pottery at the studio embraces the excitement of learning a new skill and rediscovering one’s creativity.  Relaxation and a feeling of peacefulness are unexpected benefits.

Sister Helen teaches from the perspective that “there are no mistakes, only new creations.” New students breathe a sigh of relief.  Of her outreach programs, Sister Helen says, “They allow me to touch the lives of those at various drop-in centers.”
