Looking after spiritual needs in the golden years

Reprinted with permission from The Catholic Register, April 13, 2014 — Sr. Mary Rose Marrin is attempting to fill a ministry gap in the Archdiocese of Toronto for a demographic that is continuing to grow: those reaching their golden years.
"The fact of the matter is that there are many many more older people and they are living longer," said the Sister of St. Joseph.

Aging is a spiritual journey

The Prairie Messenger, February 19, 2014 — Sister Mary Rose Marrin has a message for churches and for society in general: look at aging as a spiritual journey and assist maturing adults during this passage. Issues of purpose and meaning become more urgent as people age. A ministry that supports the lifelong faith development of women and men is essential. In a world where peoples’ longevity has increased by 30 years over the last century, her message is timely.
