Fontbonne Ministries Celebrates its Volunteers

Fontbonne Ministries celebrated volunteers with a May 19, 2010 gathering at Mustard Seed that combined warm hospitality, a chance to chat, some tempting sweets and a clown prone to ‘random acts of kindness' pictured at right with Administrator Leanne Kloppenborg.

Sister Margaret Myatt welcomed volunteers and quoted a relevant passage from the Sisters' constitution: "Our Congregation received the name of St. Joseph so that following his example we will be present to others with loving attention and cordial charity."

Village Mosaic Receives Gem of the Lakeshore Award

Congratulations to the sisters and volunteers at Village Mosaic who won a Gem of the Lakeshore Award on May 10. The winning team in the first year of operation are pictured above left to right: Sisters Elaine, who offers foot care; Anne Marie Marrin, Director; Marie Allen, holding the award, who teaches bridge; Conrad Lauber who coordinates programs; and Jean Gove, receptionist and euchre player; all assisted by volunteers, particularly Ursula Matthews.

Women Making a Difference

When Sr. Anne Marie Marrin was called to the front desk at St. Joseph’s College on March 8, she thought it was a routine matter. She was wrong. Three representatives from the radio station Flow 93.5 FM presented her with two dozen white roses. Third year student Tara Muldoon had called the station on International Women’s Day to recognize two women, Sr. Anne Marie and Sr. Conrad Lauber, who had made a difference in her life. “Since the residence will be closing, I thought it was the perfect day and the perfect time to give them flowers, ” said Tara, pictured above between Sr.

Five years of Fontbonne Ministries

Five years ago, Joan Breech (left) began her work with the Sisters of St. Joseph as administrator of Fontbonne Ministries. To celebrate, General Superior Sr. Margaret Myatt (left) surprised her on Aug. 8, 2005, with a cake, roses and a gathering of staff involved in Fontbonne over the years.

Joan reminisced about the lunch with Sr. Margaret, an occasion that resulted in her taking on this task. Thanked for all she has accomplished, Joan in turn thanked everyone for their efforts
