Sister Conrad Awarded Diamond Jubilee Medal

On June 21, 2012, Sister Conrad Lauber, was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal by Laurel Broten, MPP Etobicoke-Lakeshore, in a presentation that took place at Village Mosaic at 2794 Lake Shore Blvd. West. Sr. Conrad is a Sister of St. Joseph and Laurel Broten thanked the Sisters for “bringing a gathering place to the Lakeshore.” She spoke of Sr. Conrad as an "unsung hero" and wished to present the medal here in place with the seniors.

Ursula Matthews Awarded Jubilee Medal

On April 27, 2012, Ursula Matthews, Co-Director of the CSJ Associates, was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal in a presentation that took place at the Captain Bellenden Hutcheson VC Armory in Etobicoke. She is pictured here on the right with Conrad Lauber CSJ on the left.

Villagers Meet the Sisters

On Oct. 5, 43 Village Mosaic participants arrived by bus at Morrow Park, toured the building and made their way to Room 1B Community Room. They admired the building and were impressed with the Morrow Park chapel. "What friendly people," said secretary Petrina Vrazinis, as participants filed by her door, saying hello.

Fontbonne Ministries Honours its Volunteers

Sixty-seven people attended the Volunteer Appreciation Brunch on Sunday, May 1st, 2011 at Fontbonne Place and celebrated with the Sisters involved in the ministries, pictured above. The event offered the volunteers of all Fontbonne Ministries programs a chance to socialize, gather for brunch and hear from Fontbonne Ministries' Board Chair, Sister Thérèse Meunier, and the Sister-Directors of each program. Sisters of St. Joseph's service legacy lives on through Fontbonne Ministries

For the past decade, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto have been responding to the social needs of their community through Fontbonne Ministries.

And on Oct. 1, the Sisters celebrated Fontbonne Ministries' 10th anniversary with an open house at Fontbonne Place, a residence that provides affordable, rent-geared-to-income housing for older, single women.
