Greening with Hildegard of Bingen

Sister Betty Lou Knox has published a book called Greening with Hildegard of Bingen: Mystic for the 21st Century. The 48-page book features Sister Betty Lou’s nature photographs and Hildegard of Bingen’s words side by side.

"In gratitude for the beauty of the earth and the joy of Hildegard’s friendship, my hope is to introduce her through reflection on her words and contemplation of the images in this book," writes Sister Betty Lou in her preface.

Sisters Endow Chair in Theology at St. Michael’s

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto have donated $2.5 million to establish a Chair in Systematic Theology at St. Michael’s College of the University of Toronto.

“Our gift to St. Michael’s is intended to convey our continuing commitment to Catholic post-secondary education,” said Sr. Margaret Myatt, CSJ Congregational Leader, pictured at right with Margaret O’Gara.

The Spirit of Giving

“I wanted to do something more than our usual Mass on Sunday at St. Joseph’s College,” said Justin Jalea, director of the University of St. Michael’s Liturgical Choir. “ I proposed it to the choir, they agreed and we all set to work.” The result was a concert called “The Spirit of Giving” held on March 3, 2006, a benefit for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto’s mission in Haiti.
