Paint Nite with Sister Virginia Varley

What a lovely evening I had with some Catholic women studying at Ryerson University. I had been invited by Susan Goncz, the newly hired Catholic chaplain, to lead an evening of painting.

Sister Betty Lou Knox: Ministry of Art

For Sister Betty Lou Knox, CSJ, her Ministry of Art is a way of reaching out to God. "Art is a prayer," says Sister Betty Lou. "It's both a communication and recognition of the beauty in God's creations."

Contemplative Art Retreat (May 30 - June 7)

Event Date:
May 31, 2014 (All day) - June 6, 2014 (All day)
Sister Virginia Varley and Sister Grace Sauvé will be hosting a contemplative art retreat.

Often, words are inadequate in our attempt to express what is deep within our hearts, even to ourselves. This retreat is designed to enable each retreatant to discover the soul's language in art.

The retreat offers a way of praying that leads to a deep intimacy with God, using art as a language of prayer.
