Oct. 17: International Day for Eradication of Poverty

Saturday, October 17 is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. On this day, the United Nations invites all to acknowledge and support the struggle of people living in poverty.

Event: Scattering Seeds - A Public Lecture, October 14

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto invite you to Scattering Seeds, a public lecture by Professor Elizabeth Smyth. She will speak on the post-Vatican II response of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto as seen in the life of Sister Mary Alban Bouchard CSJ — teacher, author, peace and social justice activist, missionary to Haiti.

Sister Terry Dalla: Volunteering at Wellspring

For over 14 years, Sister Terry Dalla CSJ has volunteered at Wellspring, a network of support centres for cancer patients. Wellspring offers programs to meet the emotional, spiritual, psychological and informational needs of people living with cancer.

Pan Am Trafficking Project a Resounding Success

The Catholic Register — Organizers of the GIFT Box campaign set up during the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games in Toronto to raise awareness of human trafficking have exceeded their expectations, volunteers say.
