A Celebration of the Sisters of St. Joseph at the College Residence

The St. Michael's alumni called it "A Celebration of the Sisters of St. Joseph" and the mood was definitely one of celebration. In her invitation to alumni and the Sisters, Director of Alumni Affairs at the University of St. Michael's College, Kathleen Ancker, invited all to "come prepared to smile, to reminisce, to laugh and to enjoy thoroughly your afternoon with students and residents who haunted your footsteps in the past!" Since the residence will see its final year next year, the alumni saw this as a chance to remember their days at St. Joseph's College.

Sr. Ann Delaney's Reflections on the Vocation Conference

It was a wonderful experience for me to attend and participate in the Conference of The National Association of Vocation and Formation Directors. I found it to be refreshing and renewing. The preparation, organization and facilitation were beautifully carried out.

Diploma in Ministry Open House

Shown here are participants at the Open House for the St. Francis Xavier University Ministry Programs held on May 14, 2005, at St. Joseph's Morrow Park. It was hosted by the Toronto students, alumni and their Local Advisor, Jacqueline de Verteuil csj. Information was shared on the various programs and courses offered for faith and ministry formation by distance education. Mary MacInnis, Coordinator of Ministry Programs, and Administrative Assistant, Cindy MacEachern took part, as did a panel of current students and graduates who shared their learning experiences.

Ten Years of Service

The Morrow Park volunteers celebrated their 10th anniversary on April 24, 2005. After Mass and a lovely lunch, Ryerson University's Act II Studio treated volunteers and resident Sisters to their production "I'm Still Here".

A number of the volunteers were among the first members who celebrated their 10th year under the direction of the program founder, Sr. Mary Carol Lemire. Receiving their 10 year pins were: Sandra Desjardin, Patricia Yule, Marie Smith, Erlinda de La Rosa, Katherine Rentschler and Sisters Divinia Pedro, Mary Carol Lemire, Leona Graham and Ruth Leddy.

The Sisters of St. Joseph mourn the loss of Pope John Paul II

Pope John Paul II has a special place in the hearts of the Sisters of St. Joseph. The Sisters were privileged to host the Holy Father at Morrow Park during World Youth Day 2002 from July 27 to July 29.

They join the world in mourning the passing of a spiritual leader who has, since 1978, reached out to youth and all people around the world.
