A SAIL Gathering

Sixty-five Sisters of St. Joseph, from the Toronto, Hamilton, London, Peterborough, Pembroke and Sault Ste. Marie Congregations, gathered at the Motherhouse in North Bay on the weekend of Aug. 26 - 28. On the beautiful shores of Lake Nipissing we prayed, reflected, sang and celebrated being together. In the past few years we have done this seven times in various locations in order to get to know one another and to ponder together our common identity as Sisters of St. Joseph of Canada.

Sister Mary Regis Nelson CSJ: 1916-2005

Sister Mary Regis Nelson CSJ, was known as a good evangelizer to the people whom she had served through the Via, Veritas, Vita, a program for training lay volunteers in the missions. Sr. Mary Regis, 89, passed away March 21.

A Celebration of the Sisters of St. Joseph at the College Residence

The St. Michael's alumni called it "A Celebration of the Sisters of St. Joseph" and the mood was definitely one of celebration. In her invitation to alumni and the Sisters, Director of Alumni Affairs at the University of St. Michael's College, Kathleen Ancker, invited all to "come prepared to smile, to reminisce, to laugh and to enjoy thoroughly your afternoon with students and residents who haunted your footsteps in the past!" Since the residence will see its final year next year, the alumni saw this as a chance to remember their days at St. Joseph's College.

Associates' Commitment Day

On April 16th, we celebrated our Annual Commitment at St. Joseph's Convent. Our speaker, Sister Ann Delaney, provided an informative, spiritual day. Amy Federis sang and played guitar. Our theme was "Hearing the Call of the Shepherd" which provided us with many hours of reflection and sharing. A great day for all!

Sr. Ann Delaney's Reflections on the Vocation Conference

It was a wonderful experience for me to attend and participate in the Conference of The National Association of Vocation and Formation Directors. I found it to be refreshing and renewing. The preparation, organization and facilitation were beautifully carried out.
