On March 8, 2014, 60 Associates and Sisters gathered for the CSJ Associate Assembly Day at 2 O’Connor Drive. Guest speaker Sister Priscilla Solomon, a Sister of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie, spoke on “Indigenous Issues, Spirituality and Current Justice.” Sister Priscilla is Ojibway which is part of the Anishinabek Nation.
On Saturday, December 7, 2013, the Holy Family Associates hosted a retreat day at St. Mary of the People parish in Oshawa. About 20 other people from other parishes in Oshawa joined us for a day of reflection and prayer. The subject for the day — Attentive to God’s Presence — was presented by Sr. Mary Rose Marrin CSJ.
Sister Mary Rose asked us to take this day out of our busy Christmas schedule to be with God in prayer and contemplation.
The Associate Leadership Team organized an Orientation Day on November 16, 2013 at the Sisters’ Residence, 2 O’Connor Drive. The primary objective of this event was to present the basic historical background and information regarding the CSJ Associate Program.
On a beautiful Friday, October 18th, 2013, 15 of us motored up to Invermara. We had been invited by the Sisters to have our Fall Coordinator's Meeting at their beautiful summer home. One of the reasons this was decided was to enable us to get to know each other better and to find God in our fellow Associates. It turned out to be a wonderful experience.
