Sister Betty Lou Knox: Ministry of Art

For Sister Betty Lou Knox, CSJ, her Ministry of Art is a way of reaching out to God. "Art is a prayer," says Sister Betty Lou. "It's both a communication and recognition of the beauty in God's creations."

She began her artistic pursuits in 1982, starting with photography and then discovering her love for painting. "Photography gave me an openness to beauty," says Sister Betty Lou, "but it's very much in the moment. Painting is both in the moment and outside the moment. I can really think about what I'm trying to express."

In this presentation, Sister Betty Lou shares some of her paintings and the spirituality and artistry behind them. Please click on the image below to see the presentation and scroll down through the images.
