Annual Holy Childhood Events

Mission Day Mass
Around 600 students representing various schools in the Archdiocese of Vancouver gather for the annual Holy Childhood Mission Day Mass organized each year by Sr. Mary Ellen Burns and her coworker, Doreen Dominguez. This is an Archdiocesan event which takes place each year and the locations vary from year to year as we try to move around the Archdiocese.

The Mass is always held during Holy Childhood Week — the first week of May. This past year, the date was May 3, 2013 and the venue was Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vancouver.

Educator's Conference
The Educator's Conference is held annually at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre at Canada Place. This year, the Conference took place on February 14 - 16, 2013. Participants include principals, teachers, catechists, RCIA instructors, youth ministers, and anyone involved in any form of religious education. We (Doreen and I) work primarily with our 40 elementary schools and 74 parish religion programs (in parishes where there is no Catholic school or where numbers exceed the school's capacity).

We explain our work and display HCA materials at this annual conference.
