Annual CSJ Associate Federation Meeting

From May 25 to 28, 2013, the directors and representatives of the Associates/Companions of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Ontario met at the Villa St. Joseph in Cobourg, a lovely retreat centre on Lake Ontario.

The guest speaker, Sister Linda Gregg, CSJ, from the Peterborough diocese, spoke on ‘The Trinity and Ecology’. The group enjoyed hearing stories about her community garden, listened to spiritual and scriptural quotes regarding God’s creation, while watching a beautiful power-point presentation.

Representatives from the Hamilton, Peterborough, Pembroke and London neighbourhoods, Sault St. Marie and Toronto congregations gave a report of three highlights, and exchanged ideas.  The CSJ Associate Federation vision, goals and objectives were discussed.

Doreen Veilleux, representing the four neighbourhoods, and Mary Duffy, representing the Toronto congregation, will make a report to the CSJ Federation Board in North Bay, October 30, 2013. A representative from North Bay will tell her story of what being an Associate means to her.

The next meeting will be in North Bay, tentatively booked for June 1, 2014.

Ursula Matthews and I are most grateful for the opportunity to meet new and old friends again at the beautiful Villa St. Joseph. The delicious food, comfortable and peaceful surroundings was most enjoyable, as we prayed, shared and received spiritual nourishment.
