Fontbonne Ministries Introduces New Logo
This November, Fontbonne Ministries is pleased to launch its new logo!
Joan Breech, Administrator of Fontbonne Ministries, explains,
“All of our activities are directed towards achieving our vision – to be a sustainable expression of the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto in social ministry. One of those activities has been to develop a corporate logo, a visual and visible symbol that distinguishes Fontbonne Ministries from other organizations and helps to define its identity.
“Our intention in moving towards this logo was to tell people who we are and what we do in a compelling way. We hope you will agree that it captures beautifully the Sisters’ mission and will leave a lasting impression.”
A design company, wishart, was given the task of working with a committee to incorporate the main ideas and themes that infuse the ministries. Fontbonne Ministries asked them to create a glyph or symbol which:
- demonstrated the Sisters’ strong faith-based approach to caring,
- appeared open and hospitable and
- projected a presence that was compassionate, hopeful and holistic — nourishing body, mind and spirit.
The final logo design wishart brought back demonstrates balance and equality, so that the ‘give and take’ in the relationships between staff, participants and volunteers is reflected. The wordmark is strong and confident, representing the foundation on which the ministries rest.
The colours used also suggest this strength, the symbol in a light sea green, and the wordmark, “Fontbonne Ministries, Sisters of St. Joseph, Toronto” in a warm gray, balanced by a line between them.
“All elements point to our mission, said Joan Breech, “which states ‘Fontbonne Ministries seeks to nurture community with our neighbour…welcoming everyone without distinction.’”
