Associates celebrate 25 years
On June 2, 2007, the Feast of the Holy Trinity, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto and the Associates gathered together in the chapel at Morrow Park to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the CSJ Associates. The celebration started with a liturgy by Father Chris Iredale and a reflective homily by Sister Grace Sauvé. After the mass, a reception followed in the dining room. The dedicated kitchen staff of Morrow Park prepared the sumptuous dinner.
Sister Margaret Myatt, CSJ Congregational Leader, and Sister Thérèse Meunier presented special gifts to three members of the first group of associates who are still with us, namely: Rosemarie Merkley, John Rutledge and his mother Edith Rutledge.
Special recognition was also given to the current director of the CSJ Associates, Sister Roberta Freeman; and to the three Sisters who are involved in the leadership training of associates, namely: Sister Virginia Varley, Sister Grace Sauvé, and Sister Marie McNamara. Finally, Sisters Thérèse, Annette and Margaret presented each associate with a beautiful commemorative canvas bag (see photo at right).
One cannot help but notice that the atmosphere in the dining room was bursting with praises to God and with the spirit of love among the Sisters and the associates. It was indeed a grand family reunion.
