Associates Assist Breakfast Club

Associate Isabel Whyte tells the story
At the Associates' Assembly Day in 1999, Sr. Margaret Feeley gave a talk about the Breakfast Club at St. Paul's School. The talk was accompanied by a video that showed the children enjoying breakfast, accompanied by workers and volunteers. Students from St. Bonaventure's School also help as part of their Confirmation program.

St. Paul's is an inner city parish, its school one of the first separate schools opened in 1852 by the Sisters of St. Joseph. Today, many children come to school without the breakfast they need to profit from the day's teaching. Breakfast is served every morning at 7:30 am; the menu varies.

There is funding from government, school board and parish but more is needed. We of the Avila Associates group decided to contribute $5.00 each at our monthly meetings. We are all mothers and grandmothers and are happy to help these children.
