Sisters of St. Joseph Launch A New Ministry for Young Adults

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto are pleased to announce the launch of Faith Connections: a ministry for and with young adults aged 18 to 35.

Sister Thérèse Meunier has been appointed as Director of Ministry with Young Adults. "Through Faith Connections, we would like to connect with young people in new ways. We will provide opportunities for them to grow spiritually and encourage them to use their individual gifts to benefit the world," said Sister Thérèse. Sister Thérèse brings to this ministry her many years of experience in education as well as her involvement with young people in retreats, faith development and leadership training.

Genevieve Anderson has been hired as the Co-ordinator of Ministry with Young Adults and will work closely with Sister Thérèse. Genevieve has worked as a high school chaplain in the Waterloo Catholic District School Board.

Genevieve will connect with young adults from a variety of settings. While many parishes have youth ministry programs, the 18 to 35 age group has fewer options. Along with the Director, she will develop this ministry with input from participants, taking into account the identified needs of young adults: having solid role models, belonging, receiving spiritual nourishment and making a difference in the world. She will offer young adults opportunities to meet around faith issues.
