National Religious Vocation Conference
From Sept. 9 - 13, 2004, Sisters Pat Boucher, Thérèse Meunier, Mary Mettler and June Dwyer joined over 500 vocation ministers and accompanying community members for the National Religious Vocation Conference's biennial convocation held in Chicago, Illinois. Two keynote speakers, Sister Mary Maher, SSND, and Reverned Timothy Radcliffe, OP, addressed the gathering on the theme of the convocation, "Fidelity to Jesus: a Paradigm of Hope."
Participants had the opportunity to discuss ideas and concepts that arose throughout the convocation with the two speakers in a facilitated discussion.
"Courage and hope are the words which sum up what I have received during this conference," said vocation minister Fr. Joe Lubrano, SDS. One of the young religious present, Laurie Kerty CSJ put her reactions to the conference this way, "In our postmodern culture — the culture of distrust — I am grateful to be journeying with others who desire to hope and to trust that our God will be sufficient for us throughout our lives of continuous change and transformation."
