Fontbonne Place Fundraiser

The residents of the affordable housing site, Fontbonne Place, had baked to-die-for lemon-squares and pecan cookies. On Saturday morning, June 21, 2003, they added flowers and cellophane and sold their wares from the front lawn. The Craft group offered up Raggedy Ann's, plaques and mice dolls.

Young Mustard Seed volunteers gave bargains on everything from a donated fur coat to corkscrews. A granddaughter cried, "Get your lemonade here!" Another volunteer painted faces. The Good Shepherd Sisters "Sharing Fair" sold goods that provided work for third World women. The workers enjoyed hamburgers and veggie burgers on the BBQ donated by Indigo.

Funds raised: at least $800. Fun enjoyed: endless.
