THEOLOGY ON TAP: Friendship with the Poor, in Nepal and Canada

Young adults (19-39) are invited join us for an evening of thought-provoking theological discussion in a relaxed setting, with special guest: Paul Robson, SJ, theology student at Regis College. Paul will share how he was formed by the friendships he made with Bhutanese refugees in Nepal; and how he has endeavoured to continue such friendships back home in Canada. Munchies provided, cash bar, come and bring a friend!

Hike and Prayer: Evergreen Brickworks

Creation's Guardians Photo Exhibit (Nov. 2 - 28)

Danny Beaton, a Canadian Native Elder who has won many awards for his photos, his writing, and his environmental advocacy. Trent University, where Danny is a Native resource person, has a permanent collection of Danny’s photos on display. Danny has loaned six of his beautiful photos of Native Elders for display in the Sanctuary at Donway Covenant United Church.
 
There will be an opening reception on November 2, 2013, from 1 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Contemplative Art Retreat (May 30 - June 7)

Sister Virginia Varley and Sister Grace Sauvé will be hosting a contemplative art retreat.
 
Often, words are inadequate in our attempt to express what is deep within our hearts, even to ourselves. This retreat is designed to enable each retreatant to discover the soul's language in art. 
 
The retreat offers a way of praying that leads to a deep intimacy with God, using art as a language of prayer.
