Criminalization of Dissent

Event Date:
April 17, 2013 - 6:30pm

Land Defenders, Human Rights and Political Activists are imprisoned! The judicial system and the rule of law are being used as instruments of state violence.

People around the world who organize and resist the onslaught of colonial land theft, extractive industries, and state repression are arrested and indefinitely being kept in prison as a strategy to silence their voices and crush their struggles to assert their right to self-determination and sovereignty.

On the occasion of Palestine Political Prisoners’ Day, there will be a panel discussion in solidarity with political prisoners around the globe.

Please join us to hear these stories,  identify common strategies and discuss effective community responses.
