Wisdom Raises Her Voice
We engage in a wide spectrum of ministries. Some of them we manage ourselves. Others we do in partnership. Sometimes, we participate in ministries run by other organizations. Whatever we do flows from our mission of living in communion with all.
What follows is an outline of the different ministries our Sisters are engaged in, grouped under the categories of Social Outreach, Pastoral/ Spiritual, and Yopung Adult.
Fontbonne Ministries Sisters of St. Joseph, Toronto, includes:
- Fontbonne Place – affordable rent-geared-to-income housing for older, single women
- Mustard Seed – located in south Riverdale, it provides programs that develop life skills and creativity in an accepting environment
- In Good Company – a friendly visiting program responding to individuals seeking emotional, spiritual and social support
- Studio on the Hill - opportunities to work with clay in a safe non-stressful environment
- Village Mosaic: a welcoming space in south Etobicoke offering hospitality and community building
L'Arche - creating home together with people with disabilities
Nazareth House - safe transitional house for women needing low cost shelter
Work in developing countries - outreach programs outside Canada
Justice, Peace, Integrity of Creation - a ministry centered on justice, peace and ecology
Lay Ministry - support for adult learning to enable parish assistance
Parish work - assistance with all manner of parish programs
Prayer - ongoing prayer for different intentions
Spiritual Direction - spiritual guidance in different settings
Higher Education - courses at the university level
Faith Connections - Ministry with Young Adults
