Sister Jacqueline de Verteuil CSJ
Sister Jacqui is the local consultant/advisor to students registered in the Diploma in Ministry Program offered by St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia. This program consists of five courses in a distance education format. Sr. Jacqueline provides individual and group support to students. She also acts as liaison with local parishes.
Sr. Jacqueline holds monthly gatherings with students, advises on assignments, and does course orientations through instructional videos. She keeps students in touch with archdiocesan activities to enhance their studies. An important aspect of the monthly sessions is faith sharing to help students integrate their studies and their faith life.
Students taking this program are linked with Sr. Jacqueline who gives them an initial interview as well as advice and support until they graduate. She maintains a resource center to assist students in their studies. In conjunction with the University and with the help of students, she organizes Spring Information Sessions hosted at local parishes.
Students are seeking a better foundation for their Catholic faith. Parishes need people with background in theology to assist in various volunteer ministries.
