The focus of our work is to provide opportunities for:
Our Cherish the Earth Office was formed in 1997 in order to teach the new story of creation. We now know that the earth is one living being. We are a part of it. Consequently, what we do to the earth, we do to ourselves. This is the basis of our "cherish the earth" philosophy.
We offer six courses that explore this new way of looking at the earth. Sister Janet Fraser CSJ will come to your location and teach the course of your choice. You would consult with her as to location and fee. With Sr. Janet as your guide, your group would explore this topic of the natural world and our place in it.
Come and Learn to read the earth
Reflections on the writings of Thomas Berry and Brian Swimme
This is a 4-session video series by Miriam Therese McGillis. The sessions would be accompanied by discussion and readings.
Explore the story of the universe with a feeling for its sacred nature
This 12-video series based on the book, The Universe Story by Brian Swimme and Thomas Berry, is offered in 12 sessions with discussions.
Explore the significance of these times in the context of evolution
In this interactive programme, we will look at culture as a vehicle for creating the kind of future we desire. A full-day introduction session precedes the eight evenings.
Ecological wisdom and action for the 21st Century
These two sessions of two hours each explore the unfolding of the universe story from the perspective of science. Come make a personal covenant with the earth.
Values and principles for a sustainable future
The well being of the human family and the greater community of life depends on our personal commitment. In six sessions, we will examine together the Earth Charter Initiative, the fundamental principles for building a just, sustainable and peaceful global society for the 21st Century.
A cosmic curriculum for children
Introduce children to the new story of the universe, awakening them to wonder and awe through creative presentations, activity and prayer. This training for adults will enable them to present these 10 sessions to children in grades two through five in parishes or similar settings.
Celebrate creation - let us appreciate together and celebrate the seasonal changes, the never-ending beauty of the universe.
Ask about our videos on a variety of earth-related topics that combine prayer, music and reflection.
Take the chance of changing your life. Once you realize your oneness with creation, you will want to live with more care in this world.
