Mission
Mustard Seed, a ministry of Fontbonne Ministries, Sisters of St. Joseph, Toronto, offers a welcoming environment and sacred space for participants and volunteers to develop life skills, creativity, care for the environment and spiritual growth. Located in South Riverdale, we serve and collaborate with the local community and non-profit agencies.
Goals
- To welcome everyone without distinction, giving priority to those who might not otherwise have access to such opportunities.
- To involve participants.
- To collaborate by working in partnership for program development and advocacy with community members and agencies.
- To provide opportunities to nurture body, mind and spirit.
Our Programs
Mondays
- Sewing: Opportunities for creativity, supplies are provided. Bring a lunch.10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Conversation Café: Practice speaking English in a friendly environment. 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- Nifty Knitters: Learn to knit and crochet or work on your own project. Registration required.1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.
- Followers of Jesus: Faith and sharing. Registration required.1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Tuesdays
- Sewing: Opportunities for creativity, supplies are provided. Bring a lunch.10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Basic Computer Training: Offered to small groups2 p.m. - 4 p.m. (registration required)
- Community Kitchen: Delicious, nutritious, affordable meals prepared and shared in community. Registration Required.3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. for $10/month
- Foot Care: Tuesday afternoons by appointment only.
Wednesdays
- Sewing: Opportunities for creativity, supplies are provided. Lunch provided.10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Whimsical Wednesdays for Women: Crafts, sewing, conversation. Lunch provided.10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Thursdays
- Basic Computer Training: Offered to small groups. Registration required.2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Fridays
- Friday Drop-In: Games, cards, coffee, snacks. Drop-in for adults/seniors. 12:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Saturdays
- Saturday Adult Drop-In: Lunch, conversation, games, music, coffee. October - May, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Clothing Bank: Open to participants during regular program hours.
