Nature Meditation January

Last Snowfall

Wind-gathered clouds above
Pause, poised to gently loose
Snowy cloak and velvet glove,
Dropping them on pine and spruce.

Wraps the newborn face of Spring,
Blankets lawn and flower bed,

Guarding 'gainst Wind's icy sting,
Cradling all till Winter's fled.

Windows hung with snowflake drape, Lacy curtains swirl and dance.
All is changed to shadowscape.
Now transformed, the world enchants.
