Advent Psalm

Rain and snow, Praise You, God!
Ice and sleet, Praise You, God!

Let Earth open her mouth, O Heavens
        As Justice descends like gentle snow or stinging blizzard.

O Shekinah God, reveal your Presence once again in the
clouds.
Draw our prayers to You like a mist.
Transform us like water
Into new and beautiful forms.
Still our fluttering minds with the purity of snow.
Melt our chilled hope and let it shine.

And Mary, who knew when to hasten
And how to wait
As you bore Jesus on the waters of your womb,
Let Christ burst forth from us
For a world that knows not for what it thirsts.
