Ever since February we've been involved in special liturgical moments: Lent with its memories of Jesus' passion and death, Easter with its celebration of new life in the Risen Christ, then Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit. And now we are in 'Ordinary Time.' Is this, then, time for a rest?
It would be lovely to have a clear map of God's plan, to have certainty about where we are going and simply follow directions to our destination. But we live in a time of searching, moving through the ordinary moments of every day in the light of God's love, our choices guided by the Spirit. This quiet time comes with an invitation to live every ordinary moment as God's special gift.
There is a time for everything...a time for searching, a time for losing; a time for keeping, a time for throwing away... - Ecclesiastes 3:1.6
Make use of the long, warm days of June to sit in the shade and watch the clouds, to seek a cool breeze and enjoy the view, whatever it may be. Now, in ordinary time, there is time to dream ...
